Exploring Business Opportunities Between China and New Zealand!
The number of Chinese tourists visiting New Zealand topped 100,000 for the first time in the
year ending 30 September 2006. Chinese tourism was still growing with the number of arrivals up 33% in the month of September. Further growth is forecast following Air New Zealand's launch of direct flights between Auckland and Shanghai. New Zealand is the first developed country to negotiate a free trade agreement with China. Securing preferential access to China's economy has the potential to deliver significant gains to our exporters. It is the fastest growing major economy, currently growing at 9.5% per annum. China is our four th largest trading partner, the country's middle class is now estimated to be more than 100 million people and growing which will fuelthe demand for New Zealand's agricultural products. There should also be gains to New Zealand's manufacturers and services operators. So that you too can ride on the wave of success, come along and find out what opportunities there are awaiting you! |
